RecipesIn the HP200LX that I carry with me all the time are some 150 recipes. This makes it handy when we are traveling in the Roadtrek, visiting friends and family, and even in the kitchen. I'll admit that I've never tried a number of them but there are a few I use repeatedly.
SoupI love good soup and will try it in almost any restaurant. This must be an inherited trait, my granddaughter Kristin is also addicted to soup. At the tender age of two she sampled my miso soup at a restaurant and then refused to give it back to me and proceeded to gobble it all down Here are a few of my favorites soups:

Other RecipesThis last Christmas I tried "brining" a turkey and was pleased with how moist it turned out. It was so good that since then we've tried brining turkey parts, chicken and other meats. The instructions I followed are: Every Christmas for about 20 years I have made a special sweet bread in the form of a wreath sort of my "signature" bread. It takes about an afternoon to make two of them. If the instructions are unclear let me know. I'll try taking some pictures next Christmas with the digital camera and include them in the meantime just try to "muddle" through.
Some people turn their noses up at okra but it is one of my favorite vegetables. When pickled it is a great snack. I like to start the day with granola. Carol's recipes has been gradually adjusted, over the years. Nothing is perfect but this close.
My grandmother, Susie Came Passmore 1864-1956, was a good cook. Before I went up on Roderick Mountain Fire Lookout up in the Yaak country of Montana I hitch-hike down to Butte to spend a couple of days with her. We talked about many things, but her advice to me about cooking that I can remember was biscuits, make them as moist as you can and still handle the dough; pie crust, on the other hand, make as dry as possible and still stick together. Her advice has stood me in good stead ever since. And I'd like to pass this tidbit on....
